Poultry & Hog Operations
Poultry and hog operations run continuous production with equipment that works every day. We finance feed delivery systems, tractors, manure spreaders, and.
Confinement poultry and hog production doesn't have a season. Flocks turn every six to nine weeks. Hog operations move pigs from farrowing to finish on a rolling cycle that runs twelve months a year. The equipment that keeps those operations moving, the feed delivery trucks, the mechanical ventilation systems, the tractors and loaders for manure management and feed handling, never gets a real off-season. It's in use or it's on standby, and the maintenance schedule is relentless.
We work with contract growers and independent operators across the Midwest, Southeast, and Mid-Atlantic. Arkansas, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, Iowa, Indiana, and Minnesota are the states where we see the most activity, but we work with poultry and hog producers wherever they operate. The equipment financing is the same whether the birds are broilers in Georgia or turkeys in Minnesota.
Most equipment purchases in this sector fall costing on the order of $60k to $300k for major items like feed delivery trucks, tractor and loader packages, and manure spreading systems. Contract growers who are building new facilities or upgrading existing ones sometimes have larger capital needs that we work with on a case-by-case basis.

Equipment Poultry and Hog Operations Finance
Feed delivery and handling. Feed is the biggest input cost in confinement livestock production and moving it efficiently from bins to feeders is an equipment-intensive daily operation. Farm trucks configured for bulk feed delivery, auger systems, and pneumatic conveyors all represent equipment financing opportunities for poultry and hog operations. Farm trucks configured for feed and grain delivery are a common transaction for contract growers who handle their own feed logistics.
Tractors and loaders. A tractor and loader package is the most versatile piece of equipment on any poultry or hog farm. It handles bedding (litter) moving in broiler houses, manure lagoon management, carcass disposal, maintenance work, and general utility. Utility tractors in the 80 to 150 horsepower range with front loader attachments are the standard setup. Skid steers are also commonly used in facilities for their compact footprint and versatility in tight spaces.
Manure spreading and handling. Land application of manure and litter is both a regulatory requirement and a nutrient management practice on poultry and hog operations. Manure spreaders for dry litter application and liquid manure application systems both qualify for equipment financing. These can be significant purchases for larger operations with significant land application acres.
Ventilation and environmental equipment. Tunnel ventilation fans, evaporative cooling pads, heating systems, and controllers are critical infrastructure in modern confinement poultry and hog production. While these are often classified as building improvements rather than equipment in some financing contexts, we evaluate them on a case-by-case basis as part of a broader transaction.
Grain handling and feed storage. On-farm grain storage and handling systems for operations that procure and store their own feed ingredients are another category of equipment that qualifies for financing.
Farm Operations

Agribusiness & Co-Ops
Agribusinesses and agricultural co-ops run equipment that serves both their own operations and their member producers. We finance and.

Cotton Farms
Cotton producers carry some of the highest per-acre equipment costs in American agriculture. We finance and refinance pickers, strippers.

Farm Equipment Dealers
Farm equipment dealers can offer customers alternative financing paths through us when manufacturer finance doesn't fit. We work with.
Payment Terms for Continuous-Production Operations
Poultry and hog operations have more consistent income than seasonal crop farms. Contract poultry growers receive settlement every six to nine weeks per flock, which adds up to several payments per year with reasonable predictability. Hog operations with rolling production can have more frequent cash flow events. That consistency is a positive factor in a financing review.
Monthly payment structures work well for most poultry and hog operations because the income is spread across the year more evenly than in crop farming. Growers who want to match payment timing to specific flock settlement cycles can sometimes arrange that, but a standard monthly structure is often the cleanest option.
For contract growers who are subject to integrator payment schedules and production contracts, we look at the contract history and the grower-integrator relationship as part of the review. A grower with five years of clean contract history and a multi-year renewal in hand is a strong financing candidate regardless of what the credit score alone says.
B and C credit is considered, as always. A grower who had credit issues during a period when integrator contracts were scarce or payments were slow is a different situation than ongoing financial mismanagement, and we evaluate with that understanding.
Farm Refinance Questions
Yes. A current production contract with an integrator, combined with settlement history, is meaningful income documentation. We look at the contract terms and the actual payment history together to understand the income picture.
Yes. Packaging a tractor and related equipment into a single transaction is common and often more efficient than separate deals. We'll look at the combined value and structure the financing accordingly.
Ventilation and environmental control systems in poultry houses are sometimes financeable as equipment depending on how they're structured and attached to the building. Ask us about your specific situation and we'll let you know how it would be evaluated.
Equipment that's separate from the building structure, including feeders, ventilation units, and handling systems, can potentially be financed as equipment. The real estate and construction financing is a different type of transaction. We can sometimes work with an equipment component of a larger project.
We work with all types of poultry and hog operations. Turkey growers, pullet houses, commercial laying operations, and farrow-to-finish and wean-to-finish hog facilities all have equipment needs that we can work with.
